WestJet just dropped the price of some of their September flights from Toronto to Edmonton down to really low price levels.
The flights do have 1 stop in Winnipeg each way.
The number of dates is somewhat limited, so I think it will sell out quite quickly.

How to find and book these flights
1. Start with this Google Flights search...
Google Flights: Toronto to Edmonton
Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and look for the date combinations that are $283 roundtrip.
2. Select your flights and click through from Google Flights to the WestJet website.
You'll see an option to book the flights separately for slightly less, but I think you'd be better off booking them together for the few extra dollars.

Non-stop flights from Toronto to Winnipeg are also available for $202 CAD roundtrip including taxes

UPDATE 8/26 - There are now flights available from Toronto to Edmonton for $290 CAD roundtrip including taxes for October 2016 travel. They all depart on October 9th. There are also non-stop flights to Winnipeg in the low $200s roundtrip.

Try clicking on October 9th as your departure date.
Return dates are October 12, 14, 16, or 17.
Yes, this one is pretty limited!
Update 8/27 - The October 9th departure has sold out (with such limited dates, these go quickly), but some new dates have become available...

If you try clicking on other dates in October, you'll find a variety of other dates in the low to mid $300s CAD roundtrip including taxes which is still a great price.
2. Select your flights and click through from Google Flights to the WestJet website.
